A QUEER ASIAN COMMUNITY
AQUA is a space created by and for queer Asians of marginalized genders in Tkaronto.
Queer being anyone who identifies as being anywhere along the 2SLGBTQQII+ spectrum Asian being anyone from Asia, including East, SouthEast, South, SouthWest, West, and North Asian; and marginalized genders including cis and trans women, non-binary folks, trans men and gender diverse people. Marginalized genders being people whose genders have been systematically oppressed by those in power throughout history and have been made to feel unsafe because of their gender.
We work with and for our community to create connections, foster friendships, provide social support, host events and workshops, and serve our community!
What's New
AQUA Somatic and Art Workshop
You’ll get it when you get older… but what does that even mean? When will everything make sense? This creative experience will help you reconnect with your inner child and your curiosities, and use that to help you set intentions as you continue to grow into whoever you want to be. Let your inner child guide you into the New Year!
This somatic and art workshop is for those looking for a Fresh Start and Young at Heart! Led by Yi-Jia Shao (he/they), a trans queer trauma therapist dedicated to helping folks feel seen, belong, and live authentically.

In this intimate workshop, you'll:
🎨 Create a future self-portrait through collage art
✨ Reconnect with your playful, curious inner self
💫 Set intentional wishes for the year ahead
Limited to 18-24 participants. All art supplies provided, although we welcome the community to share and donate any art supplies, paper or magazines. No artistic experience needed - everyone is an artist! Optional 30-min post care session included.
